About

Bulgarian World Cup alpine ski racer specializing in slalom, from Sofia. Made his World Cup debut in 2014 at age 17. Competed at the 2018 Pyeongchang and 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics (career-best 9th in slalom, 2022) and again at Milano-Cortina 2026. Won bronze in giant slalom at the 2018 FIS Junior World Ski Championships in Davos. On 8 January 2025, he won the Madonna di Campiglio night slalom - his first World Cup victory and only the second-ever World Cup win by a Bulgarian skier, 45 years to the day after Petar Popangelov's win. Moved from Head to Nordica for the 2026-27 season.

First World Cup win: slalom, Madonna di Campiglio, 8 Jan 2025 - Bulgaria's 2nd-ever World Cup win, 45 years to the day after Petar Popangelov's. Bronze, giant slalom, 2018 Junior World Championships (Davos). Career-best 9th, slalom, 2022 Beijing Olympics. FIS's own off-season brand-shakeup article (16 June 2026) confirms his move from Head to Nordica, consistent with what the FIS athlete-biography equipment fields already show.
