About

Croatian World Cup alpine ski racer who specializes in giant slalom, racing for SK Končar. World Cup debut in October 2012; the first Croatian ever to win a World Cup giant slalom. Finished third in the giant slalom season standings in 2020, 2021 and 2024, and has competed at four Winter Olympics and eight World Championships. After one of the most frustrating seasons of his career, switched equipment from Atomic (his platform for his entire career to that point) to Nordica ahead of the 2026-27 season (after spending the frustrating 2025-26 season on Atomic), seeking renewed motivation at age 33.

3 World Cup wins, 13 podiums (12 GS, 1 SL) through the 2025-26 season. Nickname 'Zubo'. Atomic's own athlete page (still live) lists him on the Redster platform, which reflected his 2025-26 season on Atomic and is now outdated - FIS's current biography and a dedicated skiracing.com feature both confirm the move to Nordica for the 2026-27 season (FIS's 16 Jun 2026 off-season brand roundup lists 'Filip Zubcic - Atomic -> Nordica'), made for renewed motivation rather than dissatisfaction with Atomic.
